Computer History


The birth of the first computer triggered a series of events that has changed the lifestyle of everyone. It has also facilitated the duplicate documents. Besides, coding is not as tedious as typing, because mistakes can be erased with a click of a button. Along With computers the Internet Came. With the Internet, the whole world is connected and the time you have a computer, either a PC or laptop, you can connect with friends, family and colleagues, even when they are halfway around the world.

The birth of digital storage devices like flash drives and memory cards also gave birth to a whole new breed of scanners or readers. These card readers are more popularly known as a business card scanner. These scanners are specialized devices that are created to retrieve the data or information stored on digital storage devices like flash drives, hard drives and memory cards. These scanners can be a single unit or may be installed in other devices like a laptop, a desktop computer, a car computer. Is probably safe to say that the reading of modern-day cards were the same punch-card readers that are used to retrieve information stored on punched cards.

There are Many types of scanners, the term card scanner is a collective term for these devices. The memory card reader is a type of scanner that is used to read data stored on a smart card or flash memory card. A scanner used to read cards with magnetic stripe cards such as credit and debit cards is known as magnetic card reader. The reader interprets the code stored in the magnetic stripe that is located behind the card.

Apart from data recovery, this card scanner can also be used for security purposes. An example is the access control card reader. Most modern facilities have this type of card reader. This restricts the flow of unauthorized personnel. To gain entry, an access card is needed.
